"On 16 April, 1649, William Burnham, a yeoman of Long Crenden, Buckinghamshire, made his last will and testament.... The first beneficiary was Thomas Burnham 'the sonne of my brother John Burnham which went to dwell in New-England.' ... Thomas Burnham, the beneficiary, was Thomas Burnham of Hartford, Connecticut, whose eldest child was William Burnham, born there in 1645 or 1646."
